Work Study Program

Overview

Work study USA program authorizes international students to work off campus with US companies while pursuing masters degree in a fully recognized university of USA.

Foreign students are authorized to gain the training required for employment and gain work in paid positions of internship program under the Curricular Practical Training (CPT). Students are given an opportunity to work for full time over             20 hours/week or for part-time for 20 hours or less per week.

Students are provided support to acquire paid positions off campus or on campus under the CPT work study program. Many of the programs have been designed to authorize students to start working in the first year itself.

Employment on campus/off campus

Foreign students are authorized to work on campus for 20 hours/week or less starting from their first year.

Significant number of work study programs under CPT program offer work or internship paid positions off campus enabling student to work for at least 40 hours/week.

Eligibility to work off campus

Students can begin working off campus in the first year if the university

  • Instructs  employment  as a required part of their curriculum
  • Requires their work to start immediately

Other students are required to wait for the completion of one first year to start working off campus during the first year.



Visa Fee : $160/per applicant

Savis Fee : $200

Process time: Minimum 4-6 weeks from the date of submission of completed documents, for the I-20.

Visa Validity : 5 years
